Arriving on scene
Holding the line
Victory — his baby's home
Ron — experienced veteran, Kawasaki & Mazda engineer, and passionate fisherman — called me one morning for driver and errand support.
Mid-day we spotted his stolen truck in a parking lot. I immediately positioned to block it safely while he called the police. We waited together until authorities arrived, ensuring it came home undamaged.
Together we brought his baby back where it belongs.
"Elliott showed up fast, stayed calm under pressure, and helped me recover what mattered most. Reliable, respectful, and exactly what I needed."

The Story Behind the Name

I'm Elliott Masterson. I grew up right here in Oregon in the 1970s and '80s, helping my mom run her hubcap store. Week after week I watched customers haggle unfairly, break promises, and straight-up disrespect her time and effort. Even as a kid, it bothered me deeply.
That experience shaped me. I promised myself I would never treat people that way — and I would never work with anyone who did.
No Cowboy Services was born from that promise.
It means I refuse to act like those flaky handymen who disappear after you've paid a deposit, or an assistant that creates unnecessary drama. I won't cut corners or take shortcuts that ultimately cost you more time and money.
Instead, here's what you can count on from me:
I'm friendly, easy-going, and creative when needed — but I'm serious about getting results.
I will always provide you the respect, honesty, and reliability that I wish my mom had been given every single day when she ran her store.
No Drama. No Regret. Just honest, reliable service from someone who actually cares.
Our Story
What Elliott Does
I take care of the errands, research, scheduling, and unique one-off tasks so you don't have to — freeing up your time and energy.
If it needs doing — and it's legal and ethical — I'm in. No task too unusual.
One memorable day, a lovely South Korean couple hired me to give the wife driving lessons in their powerful G-Wagon (complete with Brabus engine mods). Watching this petite woman confidently master the rumbling beast while adapting to Western driving culture was genuinely satisfying.
Other highlights include confidential research for a dentist exploring overseas connections, running secure on-site photocopying for a law firm (handling boxes of sensitive documents that couldn't leave the building), and currently publishing an in-depth founder interview for a startup.
What this looks like for you:
At No Cowboy Services, I focus on making the process smooth, respectful, and genuinely helpful — so you end up happier and less burdened. No drama. No regret.
I thrive on turning overwhelming, nuanced challenges into organized, completed outcomes — so you don't have to stress.
Whether it's coordinating a complex move, managing a one-off event, or handling sensitive logistics, I bring calm structure and reliable follow-through. I'll even categorize, tally, and archive those tax receipts from hell if that's what it takes.
One time, a difficult situation landed in my lap involving a former friend's legal troubles. With proper clearances, I stored tens of thousands of dollars in goods and ran a full eBay operation — photographing, listing, selling, and shipping thousands of items. It cleared the burden, turned it into cash, and even taught me how to multiply the value of sitting inventory while protecting everyone involved.
Another standout was helping my mom consolidate her packed 10×30 storage locker filled with a lifetime of items, genealogical treasures, and family memories. Over 240 hours I sorted, categorized, donated, and preserved what mattered — politely doing what needed to be done during a time of big change.
What I handle:
At No Cowboy Services, I tackle the odd or overwhelming jobs with patience and precision. No drama. No regret. Just results that leave you smiling.
I handle repairs, improvements, and custom fixes for homes, commercial spaces, and properties with care, precision, and a bit of creativity. I especially enjoy the assembly and build-out side — California closets, Elfa installations, IKEA projects, and smart space-saving solutions are favorites.
No job is too small or quirky. If it makes your space work better and leaves you happier, I'm ready.
In a Victorian rental, I built a sturdy diagonal mini-loft inside a 4×5 former pantry, repaired a complex weighted pulley window system, and restored brittle historic trim. In another room I added a soundproof dividing wall with custom L-shaped stained-wood shelving that wrapped neatly around an existing beam. The quirky part? The husband had given permission, but we could only work on Sundays while his wife was away at temple — so everything was done quietly, cleanly, and with full respect for their situation.
I've also assembled and stocked a full set of candy vending machines to raise money for the Special Olympics and built seasonal store fixtures for J.Crew to exact blueprint specifications.
Typical (and not-so-typical) work I handle:
Just because some overpriced contractors might pass on your relatively small or detail-oriented project doesn't make your ideas or dreams any less important. I'd enjoy getting to know you and your situation and doing what it takes to get it all done well. At No Cowboy Services the goal is always the same: reliable results with no drama and no regret — just a space you enjoy even more.

The Person Behind the Work
People describe me as confident, friendly, and no-nonsense. Whether I'm fixing a drafty window, organizing your schedule, or tackling whatever else needs doing, my approach is straightforward: I show up, do the work carefully, and make your life a little easier.
I focus on one thing above all: respect. It doesn't matter to me what your background is — I treat every client with the same fairness and integrity. That's the foundation of No Cowboy Services.
Background & Credentials
As of 2026, I'm employed with the State of Oregon's Department of Human Services providing in-home care for our state's most vulnerable clients. That means I've successfully passed the rigorous ORCHARDS background screening process, which includes comprehensive fingerprint-based criminal history checks through Oregon LEDS and the FBI, abuse records checks for children, seniors, and people with disabilities, out-of-state record reviews, and full driving and court record verification through the Oregon DMV and other systems.

More About Elliott
I've been happily self-employed as an Uber and Lyft driver since 2015. Now I'm returning to my roots and skills with No Cowboy Services.
Before the driving years, I spent time in many customer-facing roles across hospitality, retail, events, sales, and my personal favorite — printing. Here's a look at some of that earlier professional history:

I carry all of it — the customer focus, problem-solving mindset, and that same drive to do things right, make people happy, and handle whatever comes my way — into every project I take on today.
What It Costs
My quoted work is based on a day rate of $325 (with a two-hour minimum). Lighter-duty assignments are more negotiable and can start at $225.
At No Cowboy Services, I believe in straight talk and real value — no hidden fees, no drama, and no cowboy excuses.
What you get for that rate:
I know what it's like to need help right away — only to be told you have to wait weeks. That's why, when you reach out, I'll drop everything possible for an immediate free in-person consultation. Even if I can't start the actual work for a few days (or longer, depending on current commitments), you'll have the reassurance of my quick attention and a clear plan forward.
Availability: Seven days a week, 7 AM – 7 PM.
That personal connection and quick response is a cornerstone of how I work — because trust starts with showing up when it matters.
